A Festivus Miracle in Florham Park

The holiday season.

It's a time of warmth in spite of being the first days of winter.

It's when seemingly impossible things become possible.

For example, it would take a miracle for a man as fat as Santa to fit down so many tiny chimneys.

However, holiday miracles aren't limited to the world of ABC family movies.

Yes Virginia, even the sports world has a few miracles this time of year.

Take, for instance, the story of Joe Anderson.

Dude came out of college hoping to make it in the NFL as a wide receiver, although he went undrafted in 2012. He had cups of coffee with the Chicago Bears and the Philadelphia Eagles, but the most playing time he ever got was on special teams.

After three years of being a fringe NFL player, many a man would have given up, but not Anderson.

Sometimes, hard work and determination prove off. Of course, it doesn’t hurt to have a little bit of holiday magic on your side.

On Festivus Eve, he was given another chance at his NFL dream when he was signed by the Jets to their practice squad.

Was Joe the recipient of a Festivus miracle?

Maybe.

Then again, it doesn’t hurt when the best WR on the team, Brandon Marshall, was Anderson’s ex-teammate in Chicago and his biggest supporter on Instagram.

So, will Anderson get a chance to play in the Jets' final two games?

The answer, again, is maybe.

But give the dude his due. If it wasn’t for Joe’s determination, his football dream would have died years ago.
