The San José State School of Motivational Dance

Motivation can come in many forms.

To keep college athletes properly stimulated, sometimes unusual methods are required.

The San José State football program has discovered something particularly unique.

It seems assistant coach Alonzo Carter once toured with MC Hammer as a backup dancer 'way the hell back in the early 1990's.

At a recent spring practice, Carter decided to put this interesting skill set to good use.

That was well played.

Of course, if we hop into the way back machine for a moment, we can recall the song and video for U Can't Touch This.

Whoa! That hasn't aged well at all.

However, Carter was in that video.

Dude can clearly still move after years of coaching football at the high school and college level.

Carter apparently incorporated several old dance moves into the impromptu routine, including the Running Man and something called the Chinese typewriter, which most of course know as The Hammer Dance.

As far as the motivational benefits of the dance, the players certainly seemed to enjoy it.

Now, that was inspirational.
