Texas A&M Pays Tribute to the 2008 Stock Market Crash

Yet again, we've been shown that Yogi was right, he's always been right, and will always be right.

One of these days, those Dodger fans who leave in the seventh inning will discover that the hard way.

Across town, though, the UCLA Bruins took it to heart.

And to the house, four times in the fourth quarter:

Take a breath, dude, and don't forget to tip your hat to the UCLA defense.

None of those fireworks would've been worth much if they didn't hold the Aggies to a pair of field goals in the second half.

Meanwhile, Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin -- clearly getting a head start on the season's second half -- has gotta lotta 'splaining to do.

More than that, dude.

You think?

That's what it would've looked like if Bill Buckner played football.

And enough with swooning over Rosen's fake kneel. The A&M corner only had eyes on Jordan Lasley:

As quick a release as Rosen put on that pass, no one else who mattered was affected by the fake, either.

Just chalk that play down as a clutch performance at both ends.

Someone who does matter, though, is A&M regent Tony Buzbee. He was so distraught at what he was seeing from the state's second-highest paid employee that he's ready now to make a change:

I've been on the Board of Regents for the A&M System for almost seven years. During that time, I've not once commented on Kevin Sumlin and his performance during his tenure at our school.

I never said a word when he and his agent manipulated a much bigger and longer contract. I said nothing about his arrogance and his mishandling of multiple player controversies. I said nothing when we had multiple awesome recruiting classes, only to see key players leave our school or underperform.

But tonight I am very disappointed and I have to say this. Kevin Sumlin was out-coached tonight, which isn't new. He recruits well, but can't coach the big games, or the close games. Our players were better tonight. Our players were more talented tonight. But our coaches were dominated on national TV, yet again.

I'm only one vote on the Board of Regents but when the time comes my vote will be that Kevin Sumlin needs to GO.

Seven years, huh?

So he also said nothing when, say, Johnny Manziel was coddled as he lived it up during his time there.

Sure. We'll cast the first stone.

For six of Sumlin's seven years at College Station, the Aggies have started hot and staggered to the finish.

Maybe backloading a schedule has something to do with that, as well as finding their share of games against Southwest Nowhere State for non-cons.

Next up are home games against Nicholls State and Louisiana-Lafayette. A&M can put 70 points on both of them, and it still won't wipe away the stains of Pasadena.

Maybe if the Aggies -- and other early-season coasters -- scheduled tougher in the early going, they'd be better prepared to handle it.
