Sir Charles Disses Manziel

Never at a loss for words, Charles Barkley may have found himself disowned by his alumna mater for saying this:

'I will be cheering for Alabama this weekend.'

Here are his exact words:

"Johnny Manziel is annoying me so much that he's actually going to make me root for Alabama this weekend."

Then he switched targets twisted the knife even further:

"The only person more annoying than Johnny Manziel is Miley Cyrus."

Now, that's achy-breaky.

But damn! Barkley must really be annoyed if he's willing to pull for the Tide this weekend.

And this isn't the first time Barkley has commented on Manziel. Sir Charles expressed his disappointment about how the star-crossed quarterback's situation has been handled by Texas A&M and head coach Kevin Sumlin a few weeks ago

"This hurts me to say this; I'm disappointed Kevin Sumlin ain't checked him. I know he's a great player, but they gonna have a bad season, too. There's no way you can have all these distractions and have successful season. I don't believe that. I don't think they're gonna have near as good a season as they had last year."

Wouldn't it be fun to have Sir Charles in the booth on Saturday during the game? Instead of getting the usual boot-licking we'll hear from Gary and Verne, we'd have Barkley telling it like it is and making us laugh in the process.

I know it's just a pipe dream, but it's refreshing to see at least one person not bowing down before the throne of Johnny Football.

And it's no surprise who filled the bill.
