Ramming It Home ... Again

On behalf of our crack staff at The Daily Player, my apologies to those of you who bet the Rams Thursday night, based in my bold prediction that they would win and cover.
We totally got it wrong, as I meant the Colorado State Rams who play Saturday. Yeah, that's it ... the Colorado State Rams.
OK, you probably aren't buying that, and well you shouldn't. But we don't run from losing plays at PTS, which is why The Daily Player loves us. We stand up to be counted after every play. And we just get after it again the next day. And the next day is another bold belief in the Rams, just Colorado State this time.
This is a case of two programs that have both been down for a few years, and one -- Colorado State -- is on the way back while the other -- Texas-El Paso -- is still struggling. Bovada has the Rams listed as two-touchdown favorites, and that's still worth jumping on, considering the lack of respect the Rams have gotten by oddsmakers this season.
Since losing both ATS and straight up to Colorado to open the season, the Rams have reeled off three straight games that they've cashed for bettors, including last week's game at Alabama. There's more backing for Colorado State on the Bovada data tool on the Home page, where you will see Colorado State has covered in five of their last seven games going back to last season, while UTEP has only covered once in their last five.
Part of the Miners' problem will be their ability to stop the run, something the Rams have done well this season. My expectation is that will compound problems for UTEP after they fall behind, as they only have mustered 163 yards a game through the air. That's nothing to write home about, considering they have been playing from behind almost the entire season.
The Miners suspect D and poor passing game is not only a récipe for trouble for them, but a good reason to put your money on the Rams. And this time I think we will get it right.
My pick: Colorado State -14
Result ... Colorado State 59 UTEP 42 Rams cover
