Manziel Almost Transferred from Texas A&M

How close was Johnny Manziel to leaving Texas A&M?

Closer than you think.

According to reports, Manziel almost transferred from the school last year after a few off campus incidents.

The Dallas Morning News says Manziel was arrested almost a year ago for misdemeanor fighting, failure to identify, and possession of fake IDs.

He was suspended for the 2012 season as a result, but that suspension was later overturned on appeal.

Manziel later apologized, but had his suspension from the team not been reversed, Manziel could have been playing football somewhere else this fall. Manziel, who was already redshirted, didn't want to miss another season by sitting on the bench.

Wonder where he would have gone? How much different would Texas A&M's season would have been had Manziel been either riding the bench as a back-up or playing somewhere else?

Manziel apologized for his rant on Twitter the other night, basically saying he still loves A&M and College Station (at least for this year), but from the sounds of it, A&M will soon find out one way or another what life will be like without one Johnny Football.
