Larry Fedora Rants about Football and America at ACC Media Day

A fresh college football season will be upon us very soon.

Finally, this will give us the opportunity to hear the enlightened thoughts of America's college football head coaches.

For example, let's check in with UNC head coach Larry Fedora.

Someone decided it would be a good idea to put microphones in front of him and ask him questions.

The results were...disturbing.

There is much madness to distill here, so let's begin.

Fedora seems to be under the impression that the game of football is under attack.

We know this because he literally said it verbatim.

However, when asked who or what was attacking the game, Fedora was unable to provide specifics, instead pausing awkwardly for what felt like about 20 minutes.

Fedora feels that because of all this player safety nonsense, the game as we currently know it will be unrecognizable in 10 years or so.

And if this happens, America may, in his words, "go down".

Apparently, this leader of men has broached this subject with an actual general, who suggested to Fedora that football was responsible for the strength of the U.S. military.

Fedora didn't mention how the bloated U.S. defense budget may factor into this equation.

Oh, and one more thing.

Fedora is skeptical about evidence and data linking CTE to football, and feels that the game of football is safer than ever.

Good luck with the new season, coach.

Go Tar Heels.
