Josh Allen Tosses 3 TDs, Says Hello to the Pros

Every time an FCS phenom slinger comes around, skepticism abounds.

Wonderment runs along the lines of, say, if dude's that good, why didn't he get an FBS scholarship?

Dunno.

Maybe someone should ask Carson Wentz, Ben Roethlesberger, and/or Tony Romo, for starters.

Wentz matriculated at FCS power North Dakota State, coached by Craig Bohl, a hard-nosed Old School dude who does what Chris Petersen does, ie- recruits his kinda player regardless of ranking and makes them better.

That often includes making them better than the more publicized FBS players when all is said and done.

Bohl's now at Wyoming, which is his kinda country. And look who he's been developing:

Josh Allen has had his ups and downs this season, but there's no denying dude's got the tools and Bohl's refined the skillset.

He flashed examples in Boise's Famous Idaho Potato Bowl with a trio of slinging varieties:

With the Cowboy defense chipping in eight turnovers against Central Michigan's Chippewas, the rout was on in Wyoming's 37-14 victory.

And for the record, the winner here actually does get a bowl of potatoes.

Truth in advertising, right there.

Now, it's up to Allen to do the same thing.

He's going pro.

And then, to quote the famous saying accurately, the proof of the pudding will be in the eating.

Not sure if famous potatoes had anything to do with it, but they've now marked a momentous occasion in Allen's football arc.
