Florida Attorney in Winston Case: McCarron Shoulda Won the Heisman

Florida State attorney Willie Meggs, who was in charge of investigating the Jameis Winston rape charge, may have stepped in it again with comments he made about Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston.

Meggs commented on a Florida sports talk show that Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron should have won the Heisman because "he was a person of great character."

Listen to the interview and decide if Meggs strayed too far from his official capacity:

I'm sure Meggs' remarks aren't going to go over well with Seminoles fans, especially those in Tallahassee.

And it's definitely more grist for the mill if the woman involved in the matter decides to pursue a civil trial.
