Florida Assistant Calls Saban the Devil

When will coaches -- or Mitt Romney, for that matter -- learn that when you speak at a booster club banquet, it's not Vegas ...

What they say there will not necessarily stay there.

The latest sucker to discover the hard way that loose lips sink ships is University of Florida assistant football coach Tim Davis, who thought it was a good idea to take a shot at Alabama coach Nick Saban.

“I’ve always wanted to work with Will,” Davis said. “Will’s got a plan. Will coached under the devil himself for seven years. I only did three. He did seven. And his DNA is not any different than Nick.

Oh, but Davis wasn't done yet. The PR-challenged assistant coach had more to say about the "devil."

“[Muschamp]‘s like the other guy, only he’s got a personality,” Davis said. “He’ll smile at you. He’ll talk to you. You understand? That’s what he’s all about. That’s Will. I’m proud to work for him."

Davis must have forgotten at times over the last few years how insane his own head coach has looked on the sidelines. There are plenty of photos out there of Muschamp looking as if he has lost his mind, and yet Saban is the devil.

Expect some lame apology from Davis and expect Saban not to say anything about it cause that's just him.

Nick Saban is used to this by now, coaches from James Franklin to Les Miles have all taken their shots at him.

But instead of doing a Steve Spurrier and taking a shot back, Saban just continues to do what he does best and that's win. In his world, that is all the talk you need.
