Barber Says Eli Better than Peyton

Tiki Barber has been really busy of late trying to kiss the patooties of New York Giant fans.

First, he defended ex-teammate Michael Strahan against comments from Warren Sapp, but to really win over Giants fans, he said this: Eli Manning is better than brother Peyton.

“The expectation was that he was never going to be Peyton. I remember having these conversations with people who watched Eli in college, saying, ‘He’s good, but he’s never going to be Peyton, he’s not Peyton.’ Guess what? I think he’s better than Peyton. Because of clutch. What matters in sports? It’s winning and losing. You get to the stage and what do you do? Eli’s gotten there and he’s won.”

I think most of us would agree that Eli Manning has gone beyond most of our expectations, and he does have more rings than his brother, but to say he is the better overall quarterback is ... well ... debatable.

When the NFL players themselves ranked their Top 100 players of 2012, big brother was No 2, ahead of Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady and Eli Manning.

How much respect does Peyton Manning have? Even though he didn't even play a down in 2011, he still was ranked as one of the best players in the league. Even when he is off the field, players still consider him one of the best.

And by the way, in both Manning Bowls, Peyton's teams have defeated Eli and the Giants by large margins.

So, little brother might have the rings, but big brother is still considered the best in the league.

And Tiki is becoming a shameless shill.
