Alamo Bowl Hinged Yet Again on TCU Coach Changing Shirts

Look around, and you'll find lotsa SMH moments when dudes turn into supernerds in their quest to find an edge on the sportsbooks.

Usually, that means delving into statistical data that numbs sensibilities.

It's hella easier to wait for TCU to play a Pac-12 team, wait for the second half, and see whether or not Horned Frog coach Gary Patterson changes his shirt.

Back in the 2015 Alamo Bowl, Patterson found his team trailing Oregon by 31 points at halftime.

What'd he do during the intermission? Change shirts, from purple to black.

What happened? The Frogs won.

It's clearly why dude makes the big bucks.

Coaching 101 teaches that if something's working, stick with it.

So Patterson did it again in this year's Alamo Bowl against another Pac-12 opponent, those Fighting Trees from Stanford.

Trailing 21-10 at the half, Patterson donned new apparel.

The rest is history. Again.

Nice comeback.

Nicer shirt.

His Alamo Bowl wardrobe tally:

The only player TCU didn't stop was none other than Bryce Love, who's now Stanford's all-time leading rusher.

Patterson's now 6-0 all-time against Pac-12 teams.

Maybe Arizona State should get Herm Edwards' agent on the phone if the CEO thing he's gonna try doesn't work out.
