Alabama Basketball Player Charged with Kidnapping

In a strange story that just has gotten weirder, an Alabama basketball player has been charged with the kidnapping of a young child. 

A few months ago, we reported that Alabama basketball player Devonta Pollard's mother was charged with the kidnapping of a young girl in Mississippi.

According to TV station WTOK out of Meridian, Mississippi, Pollard is now one of six people who have been charged with that crime.

Kemper County Sheriff James Moore said that Pollard faces charges of conspiracy to commit kidnapping.

Although all the details are still kind of sketchy as to what exactly Pollard's part was in all of this, reports are surfacing that it may have something to do a land dispute between his mother and another party.

Pollard was a highly-prized recruit when he came to the Tide last season.
