Zaza Pachulia's Being Sued by an Angry Spurs Fan

In America, anyone can sue anybody for anything.

This principle was recently on display in San Antonio.

A bereaved Spurs fan, distraught over the ankle injury sustained by Kawhi Leonard in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals against the Golden State Warriors, has filed an actual lawsuit against Zaza Pachulia and the Warriors organization.

You may be wondering about the nature and legitimacy of such a lawsuit.

Well, this bold legal action is based on the very real possibility that Zaza placed his foot in the Leonard landing zone for a reason.

Here's the play again, for the uninitiated:

This sort of thing happens often, as the broadcasters helpfully suggested, but this one raised many red flags because of the mere involvement of Pachulia.

The lawsuit, filed by an individual fan on behalf of all Spurs season ticket holders, contends that this was a malicious act perpetrated to do harm, and that the resulting injury will negatively affect the Spurs and their fans.

Of course, this is all true, but the lawsuit itself is crazy talk.

The action included a request for a temporary restraining order against the normally popular Zaza, which would have banned him from traveling to San Antonio for the rest of the series.

In a necessary act of sanity and reason, a Texas judge has denied this request.

If only Coach Popovich had been allowed to speak to the judge.

So we can add yet another dubious play to the Zaza Pachulia greatest hits compilation.

He may not be filthy, but he's definitely unclean.
