Wade Hopes to Have a Happy Union

If Miami Heat star Dwayne Wade doesn't win another NBA Championship, some people will say he still got the ultimate prize when actress Gabrielle Union said yes to his marriage proposal.

Wade reportedly popped the question to Union at the team's Christmas party Saturday and made the announcement via social media.

Union wrote on Twitter: "Sooooo this happened  ... #Yessss."

The couple have dated for several years, so it wasn't that big of a shock that the pair got engaged. Even before they were engaged, their 2013 Christmas picture said: "Happy Holidays from the Wade-Union Family."

The card showed a picture of Wade and Union together, along with photos of them with Wade's two sons and a nephew he is also raising.

Union stuck with Wade despite numerous rumors about them breaking up and interference from his ex-wife, who has taken Wade to court on and off for years, trying to sue him for custody over their two sons.

Wade's ex even tried to blame Union for the break-up of her marriage. But now that things have settled down, I guess he saw this to be the opportune time to make the movie star his wife.
