The Shot Dude: Friday Leftovers - NBA

Your favorite Shot Dude has received positive feedback from readers of this feature.

I'm thankful that you appreciate the work we've done and will continue to do here.

Today's docket includes another coupling of articles. Since there are all sortsa games scheduled for both the NHL and NBA, your favorite Shot Dude will put forth a bounty of player ideas from both sports to help build your fantasy lineups. Much like Monday, I've shortened the player descriptions but covered both sports in a two-part series.

You can always check each day's entire NBA slate using the Bovada data tool on our Home page. Here's an example of what you'll see in the Matchups section:

Golden State v Phoenix

As you've come to expect, FanDuel pricing is included in my summaries for each player:

Point Guards

Chris Paul, Los Angeles Clippers ($8900) ... has averaged 13.3 shots, which has resulted in his scoring of over 17 points per game. Since he also adds almost 9 assists, 4 rebounts, 3 steals and 2 blocks per game, dude's a fantasy threat every time he laces up his shoes. The Clips are home to the Pelicans, who just happen to provide the NBA's worst defense against the point guard position so far this year.

Ish Smith, New Orleans ($6300) ... has now played over 30 minutes in 5 straight and continues to get court time at 3three different positions. With Tyreke Evans doubtful tonight, Smith will see time at small forward and run the point on the Pelicans' second unit. Smith has posted over 39 fantasy points in his last three games.

Shooting Guards

James Harden, Houston ($10,400) ... ranks third in the NBA by averaging 20.4 shots per game. His 28.7 points per game is second only to Stephen Curry. He's worth the dosh tonight due to the 76ers' mediocre defense that surrenders almost 103 points, and the risk of a blowout is not too dangerous with the spread being at 10 points.

Gerald Green, Miami ($3500) ... is a minimum salary injury replacement who will help you include higher priced studs in your lineup. Luol Deng will not play tonight, and Green got 38 minutes last game in his stead. Green responded with over 22 fantasy points and has the opportunity to do that again tonight against the Knicks.

Small Forwards

Paul George, Indiana ($9900) ... is coming off a 37-minute, 55.6 fantasy point performance in Washington. In fact, this now gives George 10 straight games with at least 38 fantasy points. Dude's matchup-proof and should be used with confidence against any opponent, including at home tonight against Chicago.

Jeff Green, Memphis ($4800) ... just had his best statistical game as a Grizzlies' starter with 20 points and 7 boards against the Rockets in his last game. He's helped Memphis win 5 of their last 6 games and should remain in the starting lineup due to his ability to play multiple positions.

Power Forwards

Kevin Love, Cleveland ($8300) ... takes 15 shots a game and averages just about 20 points and 12 rebounds. These statistics are reminiscent of his days in Minnesota, when he was top dog. Love has topped 41 fantasy points in 4 of his last 6 and plays a Charlotte team that's been generous to power forwards this season.

Darrell Arthur, Denver ($3800) ... gets another start tonight if Kenneth Faried is stil sidelined. His low price is a help to your lineup along with a good chance to make value. Dude's played 30 minutes or more in 2 straight and also had double-digit scoring in both of them.

Center

Kosta Koufos, Sacramento ($4000) ... had been getting an uptick in minutes due to solid play and registered his best game with DeMarcus Cousins unavailable against the Bucks on Wednesday. Koufos tallied over 31 fantasy points in 35 minutes of court time. Check on Cousins, but if he's out again as expected, Koufos makes a great play on home court against the Timberwolves.
