Redick Denies Abortion Contract Claims

Former Duke point guard and current NBA player JJ Redick is fighting vicious rumors that he forced a former girlfriend into signing an abortion contract.

The rumor, which was started on a gossip website, said that Redick's former girlfriend, Vanessa Lopez, claims Redick made her sign a contract to terminate her pregancy back in 2007.

The website had posted the contract to its site and it showed that Redick did indeed signed some kind of contract back in September 2007.

Redick took to Twitter last night to defend himself.

I'd like to respond to the outrageous, false and malicious media reports regarding a prior relationship between myself and V Lopez in 2007-


Ms Lopez was not and has never been pregnant with a child fathered by me.
And Ms. Lopez did not and has never terminated a pregnancy of a child fathered by me.
Continued attention to these lies is severely damaging to myself and my family. Thank you

Whether or not the rumors are true, Redick's reputation as one of the NBA's good guys has been damaged by these claims, and it doesn't help that his ex has proof to support her contention.
