It's not every day that a player gets two numbers retired by the same team.

Too bad he couldn't have worn a few more, just to see what the Lakers would do.

Odds are Jersey No 7 won't rise to the rafters anytime soon, but the dude wearing it definitely rose to the occasion.

And kept on rising to heroic proportions.

Los Angeles kept themselves impressively close to the Golden State Warriors all night, ultimately losing, 116-114.

Even more memorably, Larry Nance Jr served up a dynamic dunk for the enjoyment of fans who attended to honor Kobe Bryant and even those who still believe it didn't matter how big a diamond ring he bought for his wife after that stickly little incident in Colorado.

Nope. Inside the lines, this was Nance Jam Night with an added bonus:
