Let's See if I'm Right!

I'm writing this on Tuesday night at 11.30pm edt. You see, I have a gift. I am not sure where I got it from, but I sure as hell have it, and I'd like ot share it with you.

Are you ready?

The Heat and the Pacers will play Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Wednesday night. Are you ready for what the headlines will be on Thursday morning? Well, here we go!

If the Heat win, the story will surely be that they were so very rested after beating the Bulls, 4-1, and winning four straight. A group of veterans like Miami has knows how to take advantage of that time off to let their finely tuned bodies heal and rest.  The Pacers will certainly look a bit slower than normal and will have shown signs of fatigue. They were, of course, coming off of an extremely physical series with the Knicks, who, by the way, have the most selfish player that I have seen in quite some time in the NBA. The Pacers are still uncertain that they can beat the Heat in a seven-game series. They choked last year, and that is still in the back of their minds!

If the Pacers win, you can count on the lazy writers to say that the Heat looked a bit rusty and that the layoff hurt them. They were playing so well in the Bulls series and that fluke win by Chicago in Game 1 woke them up and had them ready to defend their title. The down time could not have come at a worse time for the defending champs!

The Pacers, on the other hand, were still riding the high that beating the Knicks gave them. They were firing on all cylinders.  With Wade hurt, the Pacers know that this is their time. They came right out and went for the kill from the opening tap. They socked the champs right in the mouth. This Pacers team is just so coachable, and they play both ends of the floor so well!

Blah, blah, blah ...

So prove me wrong, you lazy, uncreative sportswriters and talk-show hosts!
