It Was Durant's Turn to Step Up as Dubs Take Game 3

In all of North American pro sports, there has been only one instance of a team being down three-games-to-none and coming back to win the ultimate championship.

It's proof yet again that even the Toronto Maple Leafs can be known for something.

Pull the lens back another level in sports history, and only four other clubs have done it: three of them happening in the NHL and one in MLB.

Total it up, dude.

That would be zero. At any level.

Poignant, that.

Because in as soon as one more game, the Cleveland Cavaliers are gonna be reacting to the Lakers and other suitors for the services of LeBron James.

If it wasn't clear since the Cavs trading for -- to use a hockey term -- a buncha dudes named Moe that they were outta ideas to keep the King in Cleveland, it sure as hell is now.

It'll be called NBA Finals Game 3 in the box score, but on the southern shores of Lake Erie, it'll be known as the moment when obvious became reality.

While the Splash Brothers were unintentionally taking the night off, Keven Durant answered Golden State's clarion call.

Did he ever.

In the Dubs' 110-102 formality, one of two former Seattle SuperSonics in this series went off for 43 points, 13 boards, and 7 dimes while being supported with exquisite team play.

The Cavs, on the other hand, occasionally remembered why a few of their dudes actually made it to the NBA. For the most part, though, it was LeBron or begone:

This is the fourth straight season James has led his hometown team to the Finals. He'll wind up 1-3. Considering those were all against Golden State, that's respectable.

Dude's done his community service.

More than his share, really.
