Angry White Dude: Westbrook Sure Ain't Joe Namath

Poor old Russell Westbrook.

All that talent, and he'll never get it.

So sad. After being torched by Ricky Rubio for 26 points, 11 boards, and 10 assists in Game 3 of the Thunder's first -- and probably last -- series, Westbrook showed off his large vocabulary during the post-game interview.

Dude vowed to shut that shit down.

He even went Joe Namath on us and said he guaranteed it.

Yes, he really did that.

You see, in Russell Land, it's all about him!

Of course, in Russell Land, he really doesn't seem to realize anymore that basketball is a team game. He can't comprehend that his team just lost a game. He only sees that he was outplayed by some other dude.

This, of course, is totally unacceptable in Russell Land. He did not guarantee a win for his team, because that's not the way he's wired. All he was focused on was shutting that shit down.

Well done, Russ. You held Rubio to 13 points.

Problem is, the Jazz had four other players on the court. Basketball teams have been known to do that. Donavan Mitchell drops 33 on the Blunder, and the Jazz are now up 3-1 in this best-of-seven series.

Westbrook did have 23, but made no three-pointers and was clearly out of control for most of the game. He picked up fur fouls in the first half and might face a suspension for some of his actions during the game.

Pack your bags Thunder, you're heading home. Something you should be used to during the Russell years.

Westbrook has played with some really talented players during his time. They've all left

Wonder why OKC has never won anything? It doesn't matter, because in Russell Land, it's not about winning championships. It's all about Russ!!

Game 5 is coming up fast, and I wonder if ol' Russ is going to make any guarantees about that game.

Back before Super Bowl III, Namath promised a win and delivered in the biggest game of his career.

Remember, back in 1969, quarterbacks called their own plays. That was Namath's show out there, and did you catch what he did in the fourth quarter?

He never called his own number because he saw how effective the running game was.

Now, that's a leader!

Ol' Russ doesn't care if the Blunder win or not.

He just wants to make sure Rubio doesn't embarrass him again. You can't do that to Russ in Russell Land.

Enjoy the off season, Russ. It's right around the corner!
