Cavaliers Own the Trade Deadline; Shift Half Its Roster

It's hard to imagine the real Cleveland GM putting all this together.

But the GM who draws a paycheck for being one definitely earned it today.

Koby Altman just breathed life back into the Cavaliers' season and gave them a fair shot at being elite in the years beyond, no matter who stays or goes.

The action was so fast and furious, Cleveland media went Old School to meet their own deadline:

 

That dude's underpaid. And Moondog's breathing a sigh of relief.

And never forget where Moondog got his name.

 

It's why they put the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland.

With Altman's handiwork, it may yet be the city where LeBron James still calls home next season.

So, coming in the throes of that hotly contested overtime triumph over Minnesota, these dealings have added to a nifty week for him.

 

The Cavs did get younger and more versatile, with the vital benefit of those traits being they became much better defensively.

Amid this makeover, Altman also got a hidden gem in the mercurial Rodney Hood.

The dude who had himself a day earlier in the week:

 

One lingering question will be how well Cavs coach Tyronn Lue likes it.

He'd have a hard time arguing against the moves, given what the club has now. Odds are he's grumbling due to lack of input.

Altman's done his job, and spectacularly. Now, it's on Lue to bring it all home.

Or else. On so many fronts.
