Wait a minute.

This is an even-numbered year.

Forget about the Cubs and Nationals. The San Francisco Giants are the team destined to claim the NL pennant in 2016, just as they did in 2012 and 2014.

Now, if someone would just tell the Giants' chuckers that.

Déjà vu?

It depends on how déjà you want to be.

If it's within eight days, there's a bunch of it.

Perhaps the season's stats to date are more forgiving -- a 4.64 ERA and 1.38 WHIP -- but one could also say that about the San Andreas fault.

It may not have gone 8.0 lately, but everyone's seen more than once that it can.

Come to think of it, that was 1989, and the Giants got swept.

Odd-numbered year.

Tim Lincecum's still out there. And the NL West has sputtered outta the gate:

Maybe the Giants just picked a trendy time for a shaky start.
